Final Stages of Renters’ Rights Bill Announced

With the announcement of the Report Stage, there’s a lot to discuss and think about.

The following time-frames illustrate what may happen;

1–15 July 2025 – House of Lords Report Stage & 3rd Reading

Three days of debate scheduled. Amendments under discussion. 

15–22 July 2025 – Limited Window Before Recess

There are only seven days between the final Lords debate and the Commons summer recess. Will Royal Assent be granted before 22nd July 2025?

22 July – Early September 2025

Parliamentary Recess / Parliament is not sitting. No legislative progress during this period.

September 2025 – Parliament Reconvenes

Time frames & guidance provided by Government.

October–January 2025

Possible Implementation. If approved post-conference, the Act will have a phased implementation across the sector.
